IN THE NEWS: Ovarian Cancer Survivor Shares Story, Journey to Motherhood

Sara Rusesky was diagnosed with stage III ovarian cancer after a gynecologist appointment to ensure her intrauterine device (IUD) was placed correctly, during which a cyst was noticed. She was 34 years old. After going through treatments at Karmanos Cancer Institute, meeting her husband and having a child via surrogacy, she was diagnosed again with adenocarcinoma. Rusesky shared how she connects with other young ovarian cancer survivors across the country and the bond they developed from their shared experiences.
