On the Ceremony of Handover of Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan

On May 25, 2026, a ceremony was held in the city of Hairatan, Balkh province, to hand over another batch of humanitarian aid from the Leadership of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the people of Afghanistan on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

The humanitarian cargo, with a total weight of nearly 215 tons, was assembled at the "Termez Cargo Centre." The aid mainly consisted of food products and other essential items necessary for providing first aid assistance.

After reviewing the humanitarian assistance, Deputy Governor of Balkh province Abu Idris expressed special gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the continuous support and care extended to the people of Afghanistan.

This serves as yet another vivid manifestation of the genuine brotherly relations of the Leadership of Uzbekistan toward the people of Afghanistan.

It was particularly emphasized that the aid would be delivered to residents of Balkh, Badakhshan, Baghlan, and other provinces affected by the recent severe floods in the northern regions of Afghanistan.

It is noteworthy that this campaign represents the second batch of humanitarian assistance sent to the people of Afghanistan during 2026.

The Afghan side also highlighted the concrete steps being undertaken by Uzbekistan to strengthen bilateral relations and expand trade and economic cooperation. As a result, recent years have seen not only a significant increase in the export volume of Afghan products, but also tangible improvements in the socio-economic conditions and well-being of the Afghan people.
