WEG Expands Its Presence in Southeast Asia with the Supply of a Turbogenerator to Indonesia

WEG is expanding its international presence in the sugar sector with the supply of a turbogenerator to one of Indonesia's largest corporate groups. Delivered in August 2026, the equipment represents the sale of a WEG turbogenerator to the Southeast Asian market, marking another step in the company's expansion in that region.

The supply includes a turbine, a gearbox, and a generator, forming a unit designed to generate power for the plant's internal consumption. The equipment was supplied by WEG Turbinas, in conjunction with WEG's operation in India.

For the customer, who made its first purchase from WEG, the new solution expands the possibilities for using the resources available in the production process. The plant already had a turbine supplied by another manufacturer, but one with higher steam consumption. With the installation of the new turbogenerator, it is now possible to use a power generation source with lower steam demand when there is no need to operate both units simultaneously.

In practice, the solution provides greater flexibility for managing power generation, allowing equipment to be adapted to operational demand and preventing the unnecessary activation of the higher-capacity turbine. As a result, power generation for on-site consumption can be carried out in a manner more closely aligned with process requirements.

In addition to the operational benefits for the customer, this contract is of strategic importance to WEG as it establishes the company as a leader in the Southeast Asian market. This achievement also reinforces the company's ability to offer integrated power generation solutions across different markets and industrial applications.
