Residents thanked for observing odd/even irrigation schedules all year long

July 1, 2026

Summer has arrived and higher temperatures often increase water demand. Utility customers are asked to remain conscientious of water use during this time of year.

"Norman residents are great at adhering to the odd/even watering schedule and we appreciate that," said Chris Mattingly, Utilities Department Director. "Their support helps with sufficient delivery of water to homes and businesses - assuring quality water pressures are maintained and assuring we are in good shape to fight fires."

Peaking water demands can tax the City's water supply and create lower water pressure. When everyone observes odd/even watering for outside irrigation, as outlined in City Code, this reduces peak effects.

  • Under an odd/even watering schedule, properties with addresses ending with an odd number may water on odd-numbered calendar days; properities with addresses ending with an even number may water on even-numbered calendar days.
