ENMU Department of Health and Human Services to Host Grand Reopening for Speech and Hearing Clinic on Jan 31

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Eastern New Mexico University Department of Health and Human Services is pleased to announce the grand reopening of the Communicative Disorders Program's Speech and Hearing Clinic on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026.

The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lea Hall on the ENMU Portales Campus.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in free hearing, speech, and language screenings. The family-friendly event will also feature games and activities for children, sponsored goodies, and meals available for purchase from local food trucks.

The updated Speech and Hearing Rehabilitation Outreach Center (SHROC) clinic features a state-of-the-art speech laboratory, an audiology suite, and video monitoring systems. The clinic will also accept most major insurance or private pay.

"I am excited that ENMU can provide these important services to our community, and I know all will appreciate the state-of-the-art upgrades," Dr. James Johnston, ENMU chancellor, said.
