On 19 September, the 12th anniversary of the death of the Lithuanian customs officer Audrius Šenavičius, who was murdered in the line of duty, was honoured in Kosovo.

The ceremony, organised by the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), was attended by the Head of Mission Giovanni Pietro Barbano, Head the Lithuanian Embassy's Skopje Office in Croatia, Ambassador-at-Large, Vilma Dambrauskienė, the Deputy General Director of Kosovo Police, Colonel Fehmi Hoti, and the Deputy Regional Director North/Acting Regional Director North, Lt. Colonel Veton Eleshani.

On September 19, 2013, EULEX officers who had completed their duties and were returning home were ambushed near Zvečan, in northern Kosovo, close to the border with Serbia. The 35-year-old Šenavičius, EULEX Lithuanian Customs Officer, was fatally injured in the attack. He began his service at the Klaipėda Territorial Customs Office in 2000 and had been serving in the EULEX mission in Kosovo since August 2012. He was married and had left behind two sons.
