GE Vernova secures H-class equipment order for EVN’s Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant in Vietnam

HANOI, Vietnam - June 23, 2026 - GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) today announced it has secured an order for two 9HA.02 gas turbines and two H78 generators for Vietnam Electricity's (EVN) Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant in Vietnam. The new combined-cycle power plant is expected to generate more than 1.6 gigawatts (GW) of electricity, with commercial operations expected by 2030, helping support Vietnam's growing demand for more flexible, efficient, and reliable power generation.

GE Vernova's participation in the Quang Trach II project also builds on our broader collaboration, including the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2026 to explore potential opportunities in High Voltage Direct Current technology to help strengthen grid reliability and support greater integration of renewable energy."

The Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant is being developed by EVN, with an EPC consortium consisting of Power Construction Corporation of China and LILAMA Corporation Located in the Hon La Economic Zone, Quang Tri Province, Vietnam, the Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant is expected to play an important role in supporting the country's rising power demand while enhancing overall system flexibility and reliability. The plant is expected to use imported liquefied natural gas (LNG), which will be re-gasified and used to fuel the gas turbines in a combined-cycle configuration to generate electricity more efficiently.

This announcement comes as GE Vernova's HA gas turbine fleet recently surpassed 4 million commercial operating hours worldwide, marking an important milestone for one of the power industry's most advanced and efficient gas turbine technologies. With nearly 130 HA units in operation across 21 countries, the fleet continues to support energy security, affordability, grid reliability, and reliability around the world.

GE Vernova's 9HA.02 gas turbines are among the company's most advanced and efficient gas turbine technologies and are engineered to help provide flexible and dispatchable generation that can complement the increasing share of renewable energy in the grid.

GE Vernova has a long history in Vietnam dating back to 1993 and has worked with EVN since the utility's establishment in 1995. Today, GE Vernova technologies help support Vietnam's power system through equipment and services deployed across the country, including a gas power installed base of approximately 2.2 GW. GE Vernova also has nearly 1,100 employees across nine locations in Vietnam, as well as local capabilities including its Phu My repair facility and Dung Quat HRSG manufacturing plant.
