Road Closures Set for Davie Street Parking Deck Demolition

In preparation for demolition of the Davie Street Parking Deck, North Davie Street, between East Friendly Avenue and East Market Street, will be closed beginning Thursday, March 26. Sidewalks and parking on East Friendly Avenue and East Market Street adjacent to the parking deck will also be closed. The closure is expected to remain in place for three months, weather permitting.

Demolition activity for the Davie Street deck is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 30.

A structural collapse training simulation will be conducted by the Greensboro Fire Department's Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team and North Carolina USAR Task Force 6 beginning today, Wednesday, March 25, and continuing through Friday, March 27. This simulation is for training purposes only and is not part of the deck demolition.

The Davie Street Parking Deck is no longer City-owned, so all demolition activity will be managed by the current property owner.
