Prime Minister Rama, who is in the United Arab Emirates as part of Sustainability Week 2026, was honoured today with the UAE's highest medal by the country's President, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The medal, which bears the name of the founder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed, represents the highest state distinction and is awarded to personalities who have contributed to strengthening friendly relations and international cooperation.

This exceptional honour comes as a reflection of the excellent relationship between Albania and the United Arab Emirates, as well as recognition of Prime Minister Rama's role and commitment in promoting bilateral cooperation and a shared vision for sustainable development.

In a post after the ceremony, Prime Minister Rama expressed his gratitude for the honour, describing it as the greatest respect and appreciation ever shown to an Albanian prime minister. He emphasised that he accepted the medal with humility and pride for Albania, and with special gratitude to President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whom he described as a great friend of Albanians.

Prime Minister Rama also stressed that this recognition is dedicated to every Albanian who has entrusted him with the leadership and representation of the country, considering the medal an honour for Albania and for its representation on the international stage.
