Final Phase of NW 6th Avenue Streetscape Project Kicks Off February 11th
Wednesday, February 11th - Friday, February 13th
The Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is proud to announce the final phase of the NW 6th Avenue Streetscape Project, marking a major milestone in ongoing efforts to enhance safety, mobility, and aesthetics within the community.
From February 11th through February 13th, NW 6th Avenue between Atlantic Boulevard and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard will be closed to through traffic during nighttime hours from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. to complete final roadway repaving. The roadway will reopen to traffic at 5:00 a.m. each morning. Local access will be maintained, and signage will guide motorists through detours.
The NW 6th Avenue Streetscape Project is a collaborative effort between the CRA and the City of Pompano Beach and aligns with the Pompano Beach Tactical Urbanism Plan, adopted in May 2023. Over the past two years, the project has delivered significant improvements, including upgraded intersections, enhanced pedestrian safety features, modernized lighting, and refreshed streetscape elements.
Once complete, the project will provide a newly repaved roadway and a more cohesive, visually appealing corridor designed to improve traffic flow and enhance overall community safety.
Residents and motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and use alternate routes during nighttime construction hours.
