Participation in the High-Level Event: “United for Water: A Call for Collective Action”

On 24 September 2026, in New York City, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, attended and addressed a high-level event entitled "United for Water: A Call for Collective Action."

In his remarks, the Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored the importance of water resources and the climate agenda, as well as their growing impact on the lives of people around the world, and highlighted Tajikistan's international initiatives in the areas of water resources and sustainable development, addressing climate change, and glacier protection.

In this regard, particular attention was paid to the preparation and convening of the 2028 UN Water Conference in Dushanbe, as well as its outcome document, the "Dushanbe Water Framework," adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. It was noted that the "Dushanbe Water Framework" could play an important role as a basis for continued international cooperation in this area.

The importance of joint efforts to strengthen international solidarity and expand multilateral cooperation in this field was also emphasized.
