UAA's Bjornstad third in classic sprints

Lake Placid, New York - Erling Bjornstad finished third and Marlie Molinaro was fifth for the University of Alaska Anchorage in the classic sprints at the RMISA Invite Friday.

A pair of Seawolves finished seventh with Murphy Kimball in the men's race, and Marit Flora in the women's.

Constance Lapoint finished ninth, and Dashe McCabe was 20th.

Other finishers in the men's race included, Hermod Bangstad 15th, Henry Skjoensfjell 21st, Garrett Siever 26th, Corbin Carpenter 28th and Matt Seline 33rd.

UAA finished second of six teams at the RMISA Invite.

Max Kluck and Erica Laven of Utah won the men's and women's races.

UAA will compete in the slalom races at the DU Invite Jan. 12.
