Gordon Public Boat Ramp Temporarily Closes for Improvements

The Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) will close the Gordon Public Boat Ramp on the Chattahoochee River in Houston County for repairs on Monday, September 8, 2025. The boat ramp is located just off Boat Landing Road near Gordan, Alabama.

During the closure Houston County will repair erosion damage to the boat landing area. The facility will also be repaved after the erosion repairs are completed. The improvements are expected to be completed in approximately three months. A reopening date will be announced when available.

Funding for this project was provided through the Sport Fish Restoration Program, which is supported through excise taxes on the sale of outboard motor fuel and fishing equipment and through the sale of Alabama fishing licenses. Houston County will conduct the repairs to the facility.
