BRIDGEPORT, CA (January 20, 2026) - Mono County is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie Trujillo as the new Finance Director, effective January 26, 2026. Ms. Trujillo currently serves as the County's Budget Manager.
In her new role, Ms. Trujillo will lead the Finance Department, which encompasses the statutory functions of the Auditor-Controller and Treasurer-Tax Collector. She will be responsible for overseeing a $2.8 million departmental budget and a staff of 12. Her broad portfolio includes countywide accounting, payroll, property tax administration, and treasury operations. Additionally, she will provide strategic leadership for the Treasury Oversight Committee and the Economic Development Corporation.
"Stephanie has demonstrated exceptional fiscal leadership and a deep commitment to the Mono County community during her tenure as Budget Manager," said Jennifer Kreitz, Chair of the Mono County Board of Supervisors, District 1. "Her technical expertise and collaborative approach make her the ideal person to safeguard our public resources and lead our financial operations into the future."
Ms. Trujillo brings extensive experience in California municipal and county finance to the position. Ms. Trujillo holds a Bachelor's degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno. She is proficient in various governmental accounting softwares and has a strong background in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
As Finance Director, Ms. Trujillo will play a key role in modernizing County operations, including the evaluation of a future Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system upgrade to enhance efficiency and transparency.
