The message reads, in part:
"It is deeply symbolic that you are holding this high-profile creative review today - on a day of particular significance for our countries. Eighteen years ago, on August 26, 2008, Russia recognised the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia. That landmark decision laid the foundation for official, constructive, and mutually beneficial bilateral relations, and contributed to the deepening of the traditionally friendly ties between our peoples, united by a shared history and common spiritual and moral values.
The name of the festival undoubtedly carries profound meaning. Abkhazia indeed has much to be proud of. Having defended its legitimate right to freedom and sovereignty in a gruelling struggle, it is now consistently strengthening its state institutions, upgrading its economy and social sphere, and making its contribution to regional security and stability. Russia will continue to provide its Abkhaz partners with comprehensive support in these areas, including in the preservation and enrichment of its national culture.
I am confident that your forum will become a significant event in the life of the Republic and will serve to advance international humanitarian cooperation."
