Commonwealth University Workforce Development is now enrolling for its Fall 2026 healthcare training programs.

Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

This 150-hour, face-to-face program includes classroom instruction, hands-on labs, phlebotomy, EKG, laboratory procedures, and patient care skills. Graduates are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and may earn 3 Commonwealth University credits (HLSC 199) with the option for additional credit through an externship.

  • Bloomsburg: Sept. 8 - Dec. 8 | Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday | 5:30-9:30 p.m. | $2,699
  • Lock Haven: Sept. 8 - Dec. 12 | Tuesday & Thursday evenings with select Saturdays | $2,699
  • Mansfield: Sept. 8 - Dec. 8 | Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday | 5:30-9:30 p.m. | $2,699

Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)

This 90-hour, face-to-face program prepares students for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam and offers the opportunity to earn 2 Commonwealth University credits (HLSC 199) with the option for additional credit through an externship.

  • Lock Haven: Sept. 28 - Dec. 7 | Monday & Wednesday evenings with select Saturdays | $1,899
  • Mansfield: Oct. 27 - Dec. 10 | Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday | 5:30-9:30 p.m. | $1,899

These programs are also an excellent opportunity for current Commonwealth University students. A CCMA or CPT certification can help students secure part-time employment in hospitals, physician practices, and other healthcare settings while completing their degrees. These positions provide valuable hands-on clinical experience, strengthen resumes, and often lead to long-term employment opportunities after graduation.
