MĀNOA MOVE-IN FACTS:

Student Housing Services

  • Better utilization of parking infrastructure and utilizing the lower campus roadways that reduces traffic and congestion on local streets
  • The new process utilizes the Stan Sheriff Center for welcome fair and check-in where student residents receive their room key and student ID and learn about campus services
  • Additional move-in times that spread out the number of individuals arriving and unloading at any given time
  • Improved directional signage and a revised vehicle hang tag system to assist with wayfinding on campus
  • Expanded two-way shuttle service for students and their ʻohana from the parking structure to the various residence halls and back
  • Students will be moving into Hale Aloha Towers, Johnson Halls, Gateway House, Hale Laulima, Hale Kahawai, Frear Hall and more

INTRO: It's back-to-school season at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, as thousands of students officially move into their dorms this week.

VO: About 3,000 student residents are heading to campus to settle into residence halls like Hale Aloha Towers, Johnson Halls, and Frear Hall.

To ease traffic, UH is using the Stan Sheriff Center for check-in and providing expanded two-way shuttle service to get families and their gear to the dorms smoothly.
