Upcoming Center for Teaching and Learning course design programs

Teaching a new course next year? Or perhaps have a course is in need of a refresh? Applications for the Center for Teaching and Learning's course design support programs are now open. Both the Course Design Institute and Course Design Academy guide participants through the process of developing effective, aligned and student-centered courses.

  • The Course Design Institute is an in-person program May 18-21, 2026. The institute is ideal for those who want an immersive course design experience, enjoy learning collaboratively and interactively with others face-to-face, and benefit from structured learning experiences.
  • The Course Design Academy is a four-week, asynchronous program that will run from June 1-28, 2026 (with approximately 8 hours of work per week). The academy is ideal for those who want to work through a supported course design process at their own pace, want more time to let the course design process unfold, can't attend in person, or prefer more independent learning.

The application for both programs is available via a Google Form and review of applications will begin on April 6, 2026.
