Speaker Selected for 2026 Graduate Hooding and Commencement

Tim Reynolds, an assistant professor of exercise science and athletic training in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance-from which he earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees-will be the featured speaker for Ithaca College's Graduate Hooding and Commencement ceremony.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 16, in Glazer Arena in the Athletics & Events Center, the ceremony recognizes all Ithaca College students who are earning master's and doctoral degrees.

Reynolds teaches courses in anatomy and physiology and serves as a part-time outpatient orthopedic physical therapist with Cayuga Medical Center. His current research interests include the impact of communication in patient outcomes and gamification in the classroom. He has also explored the utilization of social media to enhance student learning through his professional social media platforms (TikTok: @anp_professor and Instagram: @anatomy_professor), where he provides engaging anatomy and medical content to over 1 million followers.

In 2021, he coauthored the book Movers & Mentors: Leaders in Movement Science Share Tips, Tactics, and Stories, a compilation of thoughts and advice from over 75 leaders in the fields of physical therapy and movement science, providing personal and professional guidance for the next generation of rehabilitation professionals. He has also published on the significance of word choice with patients, incorporating social media within the classroom, and multiple patient case reports.

Reynolds earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Health Studies in 2012 and Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2014. He continued his education with postdoctoral training with Cayuga Medical Center's Orthopedic Residency and Spine Fellowship Programs. He is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

While an undergraduate, Reynolds played on the Bombers baseball team for two years; he now serves as that team's Faculty Athletic Mentor. As a graduate student, he ventured into entrepreneurship. The idea for his company, KettleShell, began when he figured out a way to transform a standard dumbbell into a kettlebell. With the help of his business partner and two faculty members, the idea for KettleShell won the Ithaca College Business Plan Competition as well as the New York State Business Plan Competition.
