MALAYSIA EXTENDS CONDOLENCES TO THE PHILIPPINES FOLLOWING

EARTHQUAKE IN SOUTHERN MINDANAO

The Government of Malaysia extends its deepest condolences and sympathies to the Government and people of the Republic of the Philippines following the devastating earthquake that struck off the coast of Sarangani in Southern Mindanao on 8 June 2026.

Malaysia is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives, injuries, and displacement caused by the disaster. The Government and people of Malaysia stand in solidarity with the people of the Philippines during this difficult period of grief, recovery, and rebuilding.

Malaysia stands ready to extend appropriate support to the Government of the Philippines, should assistance be required for ongoing relief and recovery efforts.

Malaysia also expresses its appreciation to the Philippine authorities for the assistance and cooperation extended to Malaysian nationals in the affected areas, including those residing in General Santos City and surrounding regions.
