Muskingum University Sports Communication students gained invaluable real-world experience working alongside the Ohio Athletic Conference on the national stage at the NCAA Division III Football National Championship, the Stagg Bowl, held at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
From press box operations and OAC social media coverage to action photography, postgame press conferences, and fan engagement, Muskingum students played an integral role throughout championship event.
Participating students included graduate students Wyatte Miller '25 and Ethan Taylor '25, as well as undergraduate students Dalton Patterson '25, Lauren Hertle '25, Malena Brady '27, Presley Hamilton '28, Tristen Portz '28, and Adelynn Rusek '28.
"This was a tremendous opportunity for our students to gain hands-on experience at one of the premier events in Division III athletics," said Muskingum Associate Athletic Director and Assistant Professor of Sports Communication Tom Caudill. "They represented Muskingum with professionalism, confidence, and pride on a national stage, and we are extremely proud of the work they delivered throughout championship event."
The group served as ambassadors for Muskingum, contributing to one of Division III athletics' premier events with excellence and purpose.
"Working the Stagg Bowl was an incredible experience and showed me how many opportunities exist in sports beyond being an athlete," said Brady.
