July 4th Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular
As the Signature Event of the Commonwealth's MA250 (Massachusetts 250) initiative honoring the 250th anniversary of America's founding, this year's free July 4 concert anchors a multi-year, statewide commemoration highlighting Massachusetts' legacy of leadership and innovation in shaping the nation's founding and future.
The Hatch Shell is on the Charles River Esplanade between the Longfellow and Massachusetts Avenue Bridges, and the fireworks can be seen on both the Boston and Cambridge sides of the river.
If you are going to enjoy the fireworks and Boston Pops show from the Cambridge side, plan ahead and make sure you bring lawn and beach chairs, and water to stay hydrated. Traffic impacts will primarily occur in Boston with Cambridge being directly affected on July 4 - particularly after 4 p.m. For a view of the Cambridge road closures and traffic information, visit July 4th Road Closures & Traffic Info.
