Suspicious Death Investigation in Keene, New Hampshire

Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella and Keene Police Chief Steven M. Stewart announce an ongoing suspicious death investigation inside a home in Keene, New Hampshire.

At approximately 11:10 A.M. on June 16, 2026, officers of the Keene Police Department responded to a home on Hurricane Road in Keene to conduct a welfare check on the occupants. Upon making entry inside the home, officers found the bodies of the two adult residents, a female, age 70, and her husband, a male, age 72. Both appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds. Both residents were pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, detectives are investigating this event as a potential murder/suicide.

Autopsies are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord, New Hampshire.

While the investigation is still ongoing, there is no known threat to the general public at this time.

No further information is expected this evening. An additional news release is expected once both autopsies have been conducted.
