The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Massimo Dell'Utri, participated in the event organized at the Foreign Ministry for presenting the ASEAN Power Grid, a $700 billion regional initiative aimed at strengthening electricity generation and interconnection among Southeast Asian countries, fostering cross-border energy trade, energy security, and the green transition.
During the event, the ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General for the Economic Community, Satvinder Singh, outlined the opportunities for Italian companies in the sector, while ITA, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, and the Asian Development Bank shared the financial tools and support mechanisms available to companies interested in participating in ASEAN Power Grid-related projects, highlighting the support and market access options for the economic operators involved.
The initiative provides significant opportunities for Italian companies to expand into high-growth and high-potential markets - as already outlined by Minister Tajani in the Growth and Export Plan launched in 2025 - and to participate in strategic infrastructure projects in the sectors of energy, networks, and green transition technologies, leveraging internationally recognized industrial expertise and solutions.
