DENVER - May 8, 2026 - DEN and Denver Public Schools (DPS) announced today the opening of Mile High Expressions: A Denver Public Schools Art Exhibition, featuring works from students at Denver School of the Arts, Hill Campus of Arts and Sciences, and Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy.
In celebration of 150 years of Colorado history, this exhibition brings together artwork from 60 students across three secondary DPS schools, offering a powerful and personal perspective on the landscapes, cultures and communities that shape our state. Each piece of artwork tells a story of Colorado's past, present and future. Some works are inspired by the natural beauty of Colorado, while others highlight the people, traditions and everyday moments that define life in the Mile High City.
For the young artists who have participated, this exhibition is more than an opportunity to share their work; it is a chance to contribute to Colorado's story. The perspectives they have shared in this exhibition remind us that history is not merely something we inherit, but something we actively create.
Mile High Expressions: A Denver Public Schools Art Exhibition is on view now through November 2, 2026, and is located on the Mezzanine, level 3, of the C Concourse. Additional images can be found here.
