WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following the U.S. House of Representatives passage of the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, Rep. John McGuire (VA-05), issued the following statement. "I am pleased my House colleagues, and I were able to get the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 passed," said Rep. John McGuire (VA-05). "This budget-neutral legislation is crucial to supporting farmers and agriculture producers struggling with the supply chain. Agriculture and forestry are the largest sources of income in our Commonwealth. The last Farm Bill passed in 2018 and expired in 2024. It's time we put another on President Trump's desk. While no bill is perfect, this brings real wins for not just VA-05 farmers but for our greater commonwealth and nation. It gives the 2% the support they need to feed the other 98%." |
