The Islamic Center of Conejo Valley Invites Community to Open Mosque Day to Foster Dialogue and Understanding Newbury Park, CA
The Islamic Center of Conejo Valley (ICCV) announced today that it will open its doors to the public for its annual Open Mosque Day (OMD) on November 2, 2025. The event, which runs from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, is free and open to people of all backgrounds and faiths. The aim is to build bridges of understanding and friendship within the local community. Visitors will be welcomed to tour the facility, observe a prayer, and meet their Muslim neighbors.
The day will feature:
● Guided mosque tours led by members of the congregation.
● Discussions about Islamic beliefs, traditions, and the role of Muslims in society.
● Opportunities to observe a congregational prayer and learn about the significance of the mosque. ● Informational displays on Islam and Islamic culture.
● Complimentary refreshments and cultural food for guests.
"We warmly welcome our friends, our neighbors, and members of our community to join us for Open Mosque Day," said Imam Muhammed Mehtar of ICCV. "This is our opportunity to share in friendship and food, ask tough questions, and learn more about the role of Islamand the role of a mosque within our community. We believe that open hearts and open doors are critical in forming mutual understanding, fostering respect and dialogue, and building a stronger community for all." According to Anabiah Syed, OMD Chair, Open Mosque Day aims to foster interfaith dialogue, promote cultural exchange, and build bridges of understanding and friendship between different communities. "It serves as a platform for dispelling misconceptions, promoting tolerance, and nurturing a spirit of inclusiveness, where people can come together to celebrate diversity and embrace shared values," she added.
