APNIC 62 Call for Papers now open

The APNIC 62 Program Committee (PC) is seeking presentations, panel discussions, Lightning Talks, and tutorials - particularly content suitable for technical sessions - for the APNIC 62 conference, to be held from 4 to 10 September 2026 in Mumbai, India.

The conference brings together Internet and networking experts, government representatives, industry leaders, and other interested parties from around the world to learn, share ideas and experience, network with peers, and develop policies related to Internet operations.

APNIC 62 conference registration is free for selected speakers, however, speakers must fund their own travel if presenting in person. The PC will give preference to in-person presentations over remote presentations.

Program material

The APNIC 62 program is organized in two parts - a workshop week followed by the conference. Workshops and partner meetings will be held from 4 to 7 September, followed by the conference from 8 to 10 September 2026. The three-day conference includes technical sessions, panel discussions, tutorials, and Birds of a Feather (BoF) and Lightning Talks sessions.

Topics for conference sessions must be relevant to Internet operations and technologies. The following topics are examples of possible areas of interest.

Core Internet and network infrastructure

• IP core network routing, switching, and transport technologies (such as MPLS, VXLAN, SRv6)
• IPv6 deployment and transition technologies
• Access and transport networks, including Cable/DSL, LTE/5G/6G, wireless, metro Ethernet, fibre, segment routing
• Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and peering
• DNS, DNSSEC, and RPKI

Network architecture, operations, and automation

• Software-defined networking and network function virtualization
• Network automation and programming
• Research on Internet operations and deployment
• Data centre design, operations, and scaling

Security and resilience

• Cybersecurity and network security issues, including Network Security Perimeter (NSP-SEC), Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS), anti-spam, anti-malware, zero trust, and current best practices

Emerging and future technologies

• Quantum computing and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) in network operations

Policy, governance, and regulation

• Internet governance and regulatory practices impacting network operations

Lightning Talks

You can also submit a topic for a Lightning Talk. These short talks / presentations, in which speakers typically prepare three or four slides, are open to all and last no more than 10 minutes, including Q&A (this time limit is strict).

For Lightning Talks, timely topics, bold ideas, and explorations that push beyond the usual boundaries are encouraged.

Submission

Prospective presenters should note that most speaking slots will be filled well before the final submission deadline. The PC will retain a limited number of slots up to the final submission deadline for presentations that are exceptionally timely, important, or of critical operational importance.

You must include draft slides with your submission in PDF or PPT format only.
