Johnson & Johnson names awardees in second cohort of the Polyphonic™ AI Fund for Surgery QuickFire Challenge

July 23, 2026 - Today at the 2026 Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS) Annual Meeting, Johnson & Johnson announced that C1DO1, Curium Life Tech, and iQ Surgical have been selected as the second cohort awardees of the Polyphonic™ AI Fund for Surgery QuickFire Challenge.

For this global initiative, researchers and innovators in the Surgical Data Science field were invited to submit their ideas for artificial intelligence (AI) technologies that have the potential to improve surgical decision-making, strengthen data management and governance processes, and drive surgical efficiency across the connected operating room.

The awardees of this second cohort are being recognized for their potentially groundbreaking AI technologies aimed at enhancing surgical care and improving patient outcomes.

C1DO1: C1DO1 is an AI-enabled competency-based learning platform that enables learners to upload videos of practical skill performance and support asynchronous multimedia feedback, assessment, and coaching.

Curium Life Tech: Curium Life Tech is a deep tech surgical AI startup company founded and led by surgeons, with a mission to advance intelligent, data-driven decision support inside the operating room. The company is working to develop geometry-aware surgical foundation models designed specifically for abdominal and soft tissue surgeries, for use by surgeons, hospitals, laparoscopic system manufacturers, and robotic surgery companies developing surgical AI applications.

iQ Surgical: iQ Surgical is developing AI co-surgeons technologies for surgical decision-making in real time.

The awardees will receive award funding and mentorship from experts across Johnson & Johnson.* Awardees may also be eligible to receive computing tools and technologies to help advance their innovations.
