Mayor Brett P. Smiley announced today that the Department of Licensing and the Board of Licenses will relocate to its new office at the Joseph A Doorley Jr. Municipal Building on Monday, March 23. Coinciding with this move, the Office of Economic Development will be moving into this shared location.
Next week on Friday, March 20 the Department of Licensing will be closed to in-person services to accommodate the move. Beginning on Monday, March 23 at 8:30AM the Department of Licensing will be open for in-person services at their new location on the first floor of the Joseph A Doorley Jr. Municipal Building at 444 Westminster Street. This move will not interrupt online services. Residents and businesses will continue to be able to access and submit online applications for licenses through the duration of this transition. The Vital Records Department will remain open to in-person services throughout the duration of this move in their current location at Providence City Hall in room 104.
During the Department's Friday closure, the public may contact the City's 311 service for immediate assistance.
