Washington, D.C. - Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) released the following statement in response to House Republicans' vote to extend government funding through December 4:
"Voted 'No' on tonight's partisan funding bill because the bill fails to properly fund critical programs and fails to protect California's federal funding from being targeted by the Administration," said Thompson. "This bill underfunds programs that provide housing assistance, programs that help rural communities with utility costs, and programs to suppress wildland fires. Housing, utility, and fire prevention costs are already way too high in our district. I refuse to support a bill that does nothing to prevent the Administration from withholding critical federal funds for California."
