Resounding Success for Women of Hope Event Hosted by Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Foundation

Lakewood, NJ - Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC) Foundation and Sary Wigs hosted the Women of Hope Luncheon on June10th at Eagle Ridge Golf Club to a sold-out crowd of more than 250 women.

An all-female women's health panel, included: Certified Genetic Counselor Elena Ashkinadze, MS; OB/GYN Eliana Fine, MD; Chief of Breast Surgery and Co-Director of the multidisciplinary breast program at Rutgers Cancer Institute and the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center Kathie-Ann Joseph, MD and Regional Nutrition Manager Jennifer Klein, MS, RDN. The panel was facilitated by Suzanne Spernal, DNP, APN-BC, SVP, RWJBarnabas Health and Women's Health, which raised awareness of the stages of life that women should complete screenings and genetic testing. There was also a special appearance by noted singers Ruchama Braun and Shaindy Plotzker.

The keynote speaker was cancer survivor and advocate Charlene Aminoff, who inspired event-goers with her message of hope through challenge and looking to G-d/Hashem, after a cancer diagnosis.

"This year's Women of Hope Luncheon was simply amazing," said Committee Chairperson and MMC/MMCSC Board Trustee Naomi Halpert. "The attendance and energy keeps growing with the support of our dedicated committee. Most importantly, educating women about the importance of self-care and screenings, and the ease of scheduling at MMMCSC can be lifesaving. This women's health awareness event truly left everyone inspired."

The event raffle included a Louboutin wallet, customized Sary Wig and original art by Libby Klein.
