Vasquez Announces Major Milestone: $5 Million Returned to New Mexican Taxpayers Through Casework This Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C.- On March 26, 2025, U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez (NM-02)announced that his office had successfully returned over $5 million to constituents in New Mexico's 2nd Congressional District this Congress through casework services. Rep. Vasquez's casework team helps constituents cut past red tape and resolve issues with federal agencies, including the IRS, Social Security Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, and more.

"Hardworking New Mexican families don't have time to deal with slow government bureaucracy and wading through red tape. My team and I are here to make sure they don't have to," said Vasquez. "New Mexicans deserve an accessible, accountable government that works for them. These success stories are a testament to my office's ongoing commitment to ensuring hard working folks get every last dollar they deserve."

Constituents across the district, from Albuquerque to Deming to Carlsbad praised the Congressman's casework team, sharing testimonies about how the team's support made a real difference for them and their families:

"Even after reading everything I could find on the Social Security website, I was still confused if I was eligible for benefits. So, I reached out to Gabe Vasquez's office. They were able to have a Social Security representative contact me by phone, and she explained that I am eligible and exactly what to do. I cannot express how helpful that was. It's so comforting to know that someone is there to help, I am so very grateful," said Frieda J. of Alamogordo.

"Congressman Vasquez helped me resolve more than $10,000 worth of unpaid TRICARE claims that were legitimate and being denied due to bureaucracy and computer error on the Department of Defense side. It was resolved quickly with Rep. Vasquez's help after months of trying to resolve it myself," said Paul H. of Albuquerque.
