Statement on September 2025 Revenue Estimates

(Washington, DC) - Today, the DC Government released the revised revenue estimates for the District of Columbia Budget and Financial Plan. The revenue forecast was revised upward across the financial plan. In response, Mayor Bowser released the following statement:

"These revenue estimates show that we have good momentum as we move forward with our Growth Agenda. It is also clear that the changing federal footprint has had a real impact on our local economy with job losses and reduced spending; and so, as our economy shifts, we must continue our efforts to shift with it. We need to be serious about keeping our companies and attracting new ones - we mean business in Washington, DC and we mean to be good for business in Washington, DC. That's what our Growth Agenda is about. Just today, we put forward a number of pieces of legislation that will allow us to be a more business-friendly city, be faster in attracting capital, and be faster in deploying that capital. Tomorrow, we're launching a new Talent Capital initiative to get more residents personalized career support. If we combine those efforts with our work to keep our region sticky - a city and region that keeps and attracts people with good jobs, great neighborhoods, and world-class schools, parks, restaurants, and cultural amenities - then we will continue to grow our city, grow our economy, and grow opportunities for DC residents."
