SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom, Chair of the Assembly Emergency Management Committee, issued the following statement:
"The working group kept survivors and residents at the forefront of our decisions. In the short timeframe, we chose to prioritize people and avoid harm. While progress was made, it is clear we need more time to determine the best path forward to stabilize rates for families and protect victims.
We have to get this right, and that means making the hard decisions. Wildfire survivors have already lost too much, and any final agreement must address wildfire risks, deliver real relief, and ensure real accountability. I remain committed to making that a reality."
