BOSTON (Nov. 14, 2025) - Liberty Mutual Insurance today announced two leadership appointments supporting Global Surety.
Following Nate Zangerle's promotionto president, Global Surety, Chris Hunt will take over Zangerle's previous role as GRS Chief Underwriting Officer, Global Surety and Credit Global Product Leader.
Additionally, Mike Oliveri has been named Chief Underwriting Officer for Subcontractor Default Insurance, a role formerly held by Douglas Schrift who now heads Liberty's newly formed Global Infrastructure Solutionspractice.
Both leaders bring extensive experience and knowledge, uniquely positioning them to lead their organizations with excellence.
Chris Hunt, CUO, Global Surety & GRS Credit Global Product Leader: Chris brings more than 20 years of experience within Liberty Mutual Surety, having demonstrated outstanding leadership, deep industry expertise, and a strong commitment to underwriting excellence. His proven track record in fostering collaborative partnerships and driving innovative solutions has positioned Liberty's business as a trusted leader in the surety industry. Chris will report to Nate Zangerleand his new role is effective January 1, 2026.
Mike Oliveri, CUO, Subcontractor Default Insurance: Mike brings over 20 years of underwriting experience in the construction industry, including extensive leadership in building and managing successful SDI teams. Since joining Liberty in 2020, Mike has held key roles at Liberty Mutual Surety, first as an SDI Risk Engineer and currently as an SDI Underwriting Officer, where he manages SDI accounts, leads the risk engineering team, and supports underwriting operations across North America. Mike will report to Chris Huntand his new role is effective immediately.
