2026 Educator License Renewal Update

Audience: Educators, Principals, Superintendents

As we approach the end of the 2026 license renewal season, we would like to provide a brief update regarding renewal processing.

The Agency of Education is actively reviewing and processing the 1,300 remaining renewal applications of the 4,700 that were due for renewal this year. Please be assured that any complete and accurate renewal application submitted to the AOE on or before June 30, 2026 will continue to be processed and will not be considered lapsed while under review. These licenses will continue to have a 6/30/2026 expiration date but will remain in "issued" status as the application is finalized and a new expiration date is issued. L/RSB members and district users can check the application status of renewal applications in their district if there is any confusion on the status of the application.

We continue to experience a high volume of communication regarding signing into the system. We ask educators to fully review and follow the directions of the account registration tutorial before contacting the Agency. In addition, incomplete information, missing endorsements, unclear employment information, and other application discrepancies can significantly delay processing.

We greatly appreciate your partnership in encouraging educators to carefully review their applications for completeness and accuracy prior to submission. Most importantly, we sincerely thank you for your patience, understanding, and support during the first renewal cycle in our new system.
