CYPRESS, Calif. - Beginning March 10, Cypress City Council meetings will be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, a change designed to improve efficiency and encourage greater public participation in the City's legislative process.
By moving meetings from Mondays, the City will reduce conflicts with federal holidays and create additional time during the workweek for both meeting preparation and public review of agendas. This revised schedule gives City Council members, staff and residents a better opportunity to prepare for meetings and engage in the City's decision-making process.
The updated meeting calendar also aligns the City of Cypress with common regional municipal meeting standards, as most Orange County cities hold council meetings on Tuesdays.
"We want City Council meetings to be easy to follow and easy to participate in," Mayor Leo Medrano said. "We hope this new schedule encourages more residents to get involved and take part in the conversations that shape our City."
Information about 2026 meeting dates, agendas and how to participate in City Council meetings is available at cypressca.org/government.
