USCIB President and CEO Whitney Baird has been elected to membership in the prestigious American Academy of Diplomacy (AAD). The AAD aims to support and strengthen US diplomacy and to enhance public awareness of the critical role diplomacy plays in advancing US national interests. The Academy's 400 plus members are a "Who's Who" of leading former US government officials, both career and non-career foreign policy and national security experts, selected for membership through an annual contested election process by the current membership.
Baird was elected, in part, due to her extensive career as a Senior Foreign Service Officerat the US Department of State.
Baird is not the first USCIB official elected to AAD membership. The late Tom Niles, USCIB's President from 1999-2005, was a three-time US Ambassador, an Assistant Secretary of State, and a longtime AAD member. Additionally, Shaun Donnelly, USCIB Vice President for Investment and Financial Services from 2010-2022, is a former AAD Board Member and Committee Chair. Prior to USCIB, Donnelly served in senior economic jobs at the State Department and at the US Trade Representative's Office.
