Student Union Building to be renamed in Westmark Credit Union sponsorship agreement

The Student Union Building at Boise State University will be renamed the Boise State University Westmark Student Union Building as part of a sponsorship agreement with Westmark Credit Union.

The agreement, approved by the Idaho State Board of Education, makes Westmark the exclusive official credit union sponsor of Boise State and provides for a Westmark micro-branch at the Student Union Building.

Westmark will contribute more than $8.5 million dollars over 10 years to the university.

We're thankful for this partnership and believe it will create lasting, positive impact for Boise State University students and the communities we serve," said Boise State Interim President Jeremiah Shinn.

The funds will be used to improve the Student Union Building, enriching the daily experience of students, and to support high-impact student-serving programs and initiatives.

Before partnering with Westmark Credit Union, Boise State engaged a consultant to conduct a comprehensive review of campus sponsorship opportunities, including benchmarking assets against peer universities across the United States, valuing locations, and providing strategic recommendations. Westmark represents a strong alignment with the institution's values and long-term objectives, making them the right partner for this opportunity.
