FWC makes arrest for the dumping of over 26,000 pounds of litter in Marion County

On Aug. 6, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers arrested Eusebio Ramon (DOB 11/12/1993) of Spring Hill for Felony Littering in Excess of 500 Pounds.

The arrest stemmed from an Aug. 3 investigation after an FWC officer discovered a large pile of illegally dumped debris in the Ocala Wildlife Management Area in Marion County. The debris consisted of concrete, metal roofing and household trash. Marion County Waste Management removed the debris, which weighed 26,040 pounds.

An FWC investigation led officers to Ramon who was hired to haul away and dispose of demolition debris. Ramon admitted to being solely responsible for dumping the debris and following his arrest was transported to the Marion County Jail.

"This is the largest illegal dumping case to result in an arrest since the Marion County Litter Task Force was established. This successful investigation demonstrates our commitment to protecting our community and holding those who illegally dump waste accountable.

The Marion County Litter Task Force was established in 2021 with a clear mission: to demonstrate that littering and illegal dumping will not be tolerated in Marion County through education, enforcement, and community partnerships.
