Carlson Library to Host Lecture on Artist David Wojnarowicz

Dr. Mysoon Rizk, a professor of art history at UToledo, will deliver a special summer lecture titled "Parasites Found: 'Diseased Society' in the Work of David Wojnarowicz" at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 16.
The presentation will take place in the Carlson Library Main Event Space (Room 1005) on Main Campus. Held in conjunction with the ongoing "AIDS, Posters and Public Health" exhibition in the library's North Gallery, the lecture will explore the profound relationship between art and social activism.
An internationally recognized expert on the late American artist, Rizk was the first person to catalog his estate materials for New York University. She currently serves on the board of the David Wojnarowicz Foundation and joined the UToledo faculty in 2000.
