Meijmat modernizes crane fleet with new Grove GMK5120L all-terrain crane

  • Dutch crane company purchases its first Grove five-axle all-terrain crane to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Versatile GMK5120L supports crawler crane assembly and a wide range of construction applications.
  • Grove CONNECTâ„¢ and strong local service support reinforce confidence in Manitowoc solutions.

Dutch rental company Meijmat has expanded its fleet with its first Grove purchase: a GMK5120L all-terrain crane. The investment marks a strategic step in the ongoing fleet modernization of the company, which is headquartered in Alphen aan den Rijn, the Netherlands.

The GMK5120L will primarily be used in the assembly and dismantling of crawler cranes, while also supporting building and construction projects where flexibility, long reach and efficient transport are essential.

A key factor in the purchase decision was the GMK5120L's reputation as a leading light five-axle crane. Its impressive taxi configurations, outstanding load charts, and 66 m main boom provide a balanced combination of performance and mobility. These features will help Meijmat ensure efficient operations across a wide range of job sites, delivering high lifting capacity while maintaining excellent transportability and short setup times.

"The GMK5120L fits our requirements perfectly. It combines strong performance with flexibility and efficiency. We have been particularly impressed with the excellent support we've received from the Manitowoc service team in Breda and the capabilities of the Grove CONNECTâ„¢ telematics system," said Willem van der Meijden, director at Meijmat.

The Meijmat team also highlighted the positive experience of its crane operators with the Manitowoc customer support team. Close cooperation, fast response times, and practical, solution-oriented support have strengthened the company's conviction after adding its first Grove to its fleet of 15 cranes.

Meijmat has activated the Grove CONNECTâ„¢, telematics platform on the crane, and its functionality also played an important part in the company's investment decision. The system provides remote access to crane data, facilitates technical assistance on site, and optimizes service and maintenance processes - providing valuable support during demanding lifting operations.
