State Representative Gayle Manning (R-Avon) is pleased to share that America 250 Ohio recently announced the Ohio Transportation Trail, an initiative highlighting locations across the state that have shaped the nation's transportation system into what it is today.
"Ohio has played several key parts in our nation's transportation history. Positioned on the Ohio River and bordered by Lake Erie, we have a long history of transporting goods across the country and serving as a passageway for early settlers. Not only that, but Ohio is a leader in aviation, aerospace, motor vehicles, and so much more. We are truly the heart of it all," said Manning.
The Hickories Museum in Elyria is included on the list of sites for the Ohio Transportation Trail. The museum, operated by the Loran County Historical Society, is best known as the home of Arthur Garford, who invented the padded bicycle seat.
