Competition and management upgrading: experimental evidence from Ethiopia

Abstract

This research note investigates how competition affects firms' willingness to invest in management upgrading, a crucial factor for productivity growth in developing countries. The authors study uses a series of field experiments with around 1,000 Ethiopian firms.

This paper is part of the Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL) programme.
