As of today, Tuesday 16 December 2024, we have entered the Prohibited Burning Period. The Prohibited Burning Period extends throughout the summer months to Sunday, 15 March 2026, and may be extended further if conditions require.
During the Prohibited Burning Period no outdoor fires are permitted anywhere in the Shire of Denmark. This includes camp and cooking fires.
During this time, you should check Emergency WAdaily, for fire danger information, total fire bans and bushfire emergency information.
You can also Subscribeto receive SMS Alerts from the Shire about fire bans, bushfire information and other key information.
Remember Total Fire Bans and Vehicle Movement Bans can be regular occurrences during summer. Be aware of what you can and can't do by making the most of the information available on our website here: Fire Bans
During a bushfire emergency, tune into local ABC radio to stay up-to-date with any emergency warnings and updates. Following ABC Great Southernis a great idea too.
Report any sightings of smoke to 000 immediately.
