HARRISBURG - Rep. Jamie Barton (R-124) and Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) today announced more than $520,000 was awarded from the PA Small Water and Sewer Program to infrastructure projects in southern Schuylkill County.

The following projects were awarded funding:

  • Plum Creek Municipal Authority - $317,000 to replace a portion of the water main on Mustang Cove and Wynonah Drive in South Manheim Township.

"Water and sewer upgrades are some of the most urgent and important projects done at the municipal level," Barton said. "This work is immensely important to the safety and security of our communities. I'm proud to have worked with Sen. Argall to bring back this funding and make sure our area's infrastructure doesn't fall behind."

"Improved water infrastructure is very much needed in so many of our communities," Argall said. "These highly competitive state funds are very important."

The PA Small Water and Sewer program awards funding to municipalities and municipal authorities for water, sewer, storm water and flood control projects. The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development which administers Pennsylvania's economic stimulus packages.
