In marketing year (MY) 2026/27, total wheat production is forecast to be 34.6 million metric tons (MMT), 13 percent lower than MY 2025/26 production levels, because of less area planted and a return to lower average yields. However, excellent conditions to date indicate that yields could again rise above recent averages. Exports of wheat and wheat products are forecast to fall over the previous marketing year, on reduced domestic supplies. In MY 2025/26, total wheat grain and wheat product exports are forecast to equal about 29.9 MMT.
