Northwest burglary results in theft of firearms; fast response by officers identifies suspects and recovery of several of the stolen guns.

On September 1st, 2025, in the early morning hours, SPD responded to a reported burglary in the 5100 block of West Bismark. Officers contacted the homeowner and were advised that a vehicle was broken into at the location and the suspect/s used a garage door opener to access the garage. Upon entering, the suspects stole multiple firearms.

Officers began a canvass of the area and located security video of the suspects and a related vehicle, a silver Chevy Impala. On September 2nd, patrol officers located the same Chevy Impala parked in front of a home near 1500 North Lincoln. One of the males observed in the security video was later identified as Eric R. Peery, 30. Due to the theft of the firearms, the home was surrounded and members of SPD SWAT responded to assist.

Officers obtained a search warrant to enter the residence. Several of the stolen firearms were recovered.

Detectives with the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) assisted in the investigation, and through their efforts, established probable cause to charge Peery with multiple crimes. Peery was taken into custody and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Residential Burglary, Theft of a Firearm from a Building, Vehicle Prowling and 2nd Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. The investigation is ongoing as SIU Detectives are looking for the second suspect in the burglary.
