President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer.

Keir Starmer expressed his condolences regarding the Russian shelling of Ukraine overnight. The Head of State noted that one of the targets of this terrorist attack was Ukraine's energy system, emphasizing the need to strengthen air defense and to expedite every decision regarding the supply of missiles and systems. The leaders discussed ways to bolster Ukraine's air defense capabilities.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Keir Starmer also discussed the prospects of the United Kingdom's participation in the PURL initiative. This is a robust initiative that helps significantly strengthen Ukraine's positions.

In addition, the leaders coordinated their contacts with partners and steps within the Coalition of the Willing. Preparations are underway for a substantive discussion later this month. It is important that this work is as meaningful as possible.

Special attention was also given to the preparation of new sanctions against Russia. The Prime Minister shared several ideas that could set the right pressure. Every sanctions decision weakens Russia's war machine. The leaders agreed to continue working together with all partners.
